British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is putting England back into lockdown for a month.
The lockdown comes after warnings that the resurgent coronavirus outbreak threatens to overwhelm hospitals within weeks.
Austria has announced similar measures, adding to a growing list of European countries reimposing restrictions.
