It would be "very powerful" if King Charles could attend the COP27 UN climate summit in Egypt,
the US special envoy on climate change, John Kerry, has told Sky News.

In what could be seen as a dig at Liz Truss, he said it was it was important to have "long-term" leaders like His Majesty at COP.

The former prime minister had asked the King not to attend the summit.

The new prime minister, Rishi Sunak, says he is not attending to focus on domestic issues.
