1. The CDC stands by its guidance for a five-day COVID-19 isolation period adding that rapid antigen tests would not be required. The agency cut its isolation guidance from ten days to five last week. The U.S. reported nearly one million new coronavirus infections on Monday, the highest daily tally of any country in the world.

2. The latest COVID wave may be denting labor supply according to data tracked by Homebase and UKG, which showed employment edging down through December coinciding with the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.
