As many support rallies are being held on behalf of Israelis or Palestinians in Toronto or across the country, some are pointing to one over the weekend they say crossed the line.

Supporters from a Palestinian rally focused their attention on the restaurant, Café Landwer, whose Jewish founders fled Nazi Germany.

The targeting of the restaurant at the intersection of University and Adelaide has been denounced by many.

“One incident is one too many and over the last two weeks we have heard Toronto Police reporting there has been a rise of hate-motivated incidents and that’s not acceptable in the City of Toronto,” Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik says.

Matthew Bingley reports.
