Former Labour health secretary Andy Burnham has told Sky News those involved in the infected blood scandal must be held to account.

The mayor of Greater Manchester said the tragedy was a "criminal cover-up on an industrial scale".

Thousands of people died in the 1970s and 80s after being given unscreened blood that was contaminated with HIV and Hepatitis C.
