Floods triggered by incessant rains in central India over the past week have destroyed farmlands and crops, paralyzing everyday life for many.
Farmlands, as well as residential areas, were seen submerged in floodwaters on Wednesday after heavy rains caused the Betwa river to overflow in the city of Vidisha.
"Wheat is completely destroyed. Everyone is facing terrible losses in Billori village," one farmer said.
Around 300 villages have been affected by the floods.
