British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine "a perfect example of toxic masculinity."

"You need more women in positions of power. If Putin was a woman, which he obviously isn't, but if he were, I really don't think he would have embarked on a crazy, macho war of invasion and violence in the way that he has," Johnson said in an interview with German public broadcaster ZDF on Tuesday.

The prime minister spoke after the G7 summit in southern Germany.
