Penny Mordaunt, leader of the House of Commons says "there are optimistic signs" for a deal over the Northern Ireland protocol.

"The priority here is the people of Northern Ireland and the EU is aware of that," she tells Trevor Phillips on Sophy Ridge on Sunday.

Asked about Boris Johnson's intervention in deliberations - and warnings from a source close to Mr Johnson that abandoning the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill would be a "mistake" - Ms Mordaunt says: "Boris is being Boris."
