IAEA chief speaks as nuclear power talks begin in Washington, D.C. | LIVE

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm will be holding a news conference Wednesday in Washington, D.C. as the International Ministerial Conference on "Nuclear Power in the 21st Century" begins.

The conference begins amid Russian claims that Ukraine will use a "dirty bomb."

Russia said on Wednesday it would continue to make the case to the international community that it believed Ukraine intended to detonate a “dirty bomb” with radioactive contaminants.

Kyiv and its Western allies have not only rejected Russia’s allegation but also voiced concern that Moscow is using it as a pretext for a further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.
