Germany started its vaccination campaign against COVID-19 one year ago today.
The first-ever coronavirus vaccine was developed in a German lab and when the country's first shot was given to 101-year-old Edith Kwoizalla right after Christmas, it was a big moment for the country.
But most residents had to wait for months to get their first shot - and watched as countries like the US and the UK distributed their doses at a much faster pace.
