Germany has announced major restrictions on anyone not vaccinated against Covid-19, banning them from all but essential shops in an attempt to fend off a fourth wave of the virus.

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel said vaccines may become compulsory from February 2022

In the UK it’s emerged that a booster jab may be needed every year. the government confirmed it’s ordered 114 million more doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The deal allows the vaccines to be modified to tackle new variants of the disease if necessary.

Cases of Omicron have now been recorded in 24 countries.
