How much housing can you buy with $1 million in Canada?

Depending on the city, the average size of a million-dollar home in Canada includes 3.2 bedrooms and 2.6 bathrooms over 1,700 square feet of living space, according to a Royal LePage report.

One million dollars used to be considered an astronomical amount of money, but now its purchasing power does not seem that extravagant. In Canada’s biggest cities, it gets you less space than the average.

The report also highlighted that the remote work trend has opened up options for people’s living arrangements since the pandemic changes, such as moving farther away for more space at a lower price, inflating prices in secondary markets.
