Homes in Malawi and Mozambique were left underwater and covered in mud this week after tropical storm Freddy swept through parts of both countries, in addition to Madagascar.

Freddy is reported to be the strongest tropical cyclone on record and could be the longest-lasting one, according to the World Meteorological Organization. The storm struck Mozambique on Sunday for the second time in less than a month after battering the nation of Madagascar.

More than 200 people are confirmed dead in Malawi, with at least 20 deaths reported so far in Mozambique. At least another 36 people are missing in Malawi, and thousands across the three countries are reported to have been displaced, including more than 20,000 in Malawi alone.

Mozambique could also see more rain and wind as Freddy could hit its Zambezia province again.
