Malawi has declared two weeks of mourning after 225 people were killed, when cyclone Freddy tore through southern Africa for the second time in a month.
Its commercial hub has seen the most damage, with flooding and mudslides.
The month-long storm has broken at least one record and could break two more, meteorologists say. As climate change causes warmer oceans, heat energy from the water’s surface is fuelling stronger storms.
Al Jazeera’s Fahmida Miller reports from Blantyre, Malawi.
