Firefighters faced heavy winds as they battled a wildfire in Cape Town, South Africa, on Monday though officials said the fire was “largely under control.”

Heavy smoke could be seen for kilometres and some roads were closed due to the fire. Students at a nearby university were forced to evacuate the area.

Authorities are investigating whether the fire was started deliberately. The city confirmed in a statement that one person had been taken into custody for questioning.
