A driver was surrounded by smoke and flames as he drove near Lillooet, British Columbia, where an “out-of-control” wildfire raged on Tuesday.
Footage taken by Cory Sterritt shows him driving through thick smoke as he passes by flames on his way back from work.
The British Columbia Wildfire Service said the McKay Creek Fire displayed aggressive fire behaviour and rapid growth due to the “hot and dry weather” on Tuesday evening.
The wildfire had grown to around 12,000 acres by Tuesday, according to fire authorities.
