Palestinian health minister, Mai al-Kaila says only nine hospitals continue to partially operate in Gaza, down from 36 at the start of the war.
Al-Kaila also told Al Jazeera that the enclave’s hospitals are overwhelmed with patients, especially in southern Gaza. “They don’t have enough medical supplies and medicines and enough electricity. Therefore, the solution is totally catastrophic,” she said.
She added that the medical aid entering Gaza consists largely of emergency supplies, not specialised medicine needed by patients with chronic health conditions.
Moreover, al-Kaila said, the healthcare system has lost doctors and specialists killed in Israeli attacks.
