Officials in Hawaii are trying to determine how devastating wildfires were able to rip through the historic town of Lahaina on the island of Maui so quickly and without warning.
More than 80 people have died in the fires over the past three days, and that number is expected to rise.
Rescuers are searching the ashes of destroyed homes for anyone still alive.
