The wildfires that have devastated part of the Hawaiian island of Maui have killed at least six people, officials said Wednesday.
Richard Bissen, mayor of the county of Maui, said there have also been 13 evacuations for the three fires.
At least two dozen people were injured by the fires, officials added, including several who were flown for treatment in Honolulu.
Hawaii Lt.-Gov. Sylvia Luke said shelters are overflowing and resources are taxed. The Laihana fire is not under control and officials have not determined what started the fire, Bissen said.
