Libya's eastern government has told journalists to leave the flood-devastated city of Derna. A minister said reporters were impeding the work of rescue teams. Critics say the authorities are trying to avoid international scrutiny.

On Monday, there were protests in Derna demanding accountability for authorities' failure to maintain two dams, which collapsed during storms last week. Thousands of residents were killed. The catastrophe has also left tens of thousands homeless and in need of clean water and basic supplies.
