A drought has been declared across large parts of England. Nine of the past 12 months have been drier than normal across the UK. England suffered its driest July since 1935, with only 35 percent of the average rainfall for the month.The National Farmers' Union says up to half of the potato, carrot and onion harvests will probably fail.
