Meanwhile, newly obtained emails from Toronto Public health suggest the Tendercare long-term care home, which had the deadliest COVID-19 outbreak in Ontario, ignored advice that could have helped save lives. More than 300 staff and residents tested positive for COVID-19 and 81 residents died. Carolyn Jarvis has details of the advice that was not followed.

The Tokyo Olympics officially kick off on Friday, but few in Japan are celebrating. COVID-19 concerns continue to rise and, as Mike Armstrong reports, even Olympic officials also won't rule out the possibility that events could be cancelled at the last minute.

Plus, in an exclusive interview with Global News' Farah Nasser, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discussed some of Canada's pressing issues including a possible election, Islamophobia in Canada and the discovery of unmarked graves at former residential school sites.
