In tonight's top story: President Vladimir Putin has accused the West of seeking to "dismember" Russia and to turn the vast country into a series of weak mini-states. The Russian leader's comments on a state TV channel follow the first anniversary of its invasion of Ukraine. Redmond Shannon has the story.

Plus, a group of residents in Kherson resisted Russian occupation by collecting information on Russian troop movements and tagging them for advancing Ukrainian Forces. Since the war in Ukraine began, the Russian military has suffered one setback after another, with the same expected for the Russian economy. Western sanctions were supposed to bring the country to its knees. But within weeks, the Russian economy began to rebound — though still hard hit by Western isolation. As Eric Sorensen explains, Russia has been able to build new trade channels abroad and spur domestic industries at home.

The number of women in the workforce has never been higher, leading the economic recovery from the pandemic. Some are calling this a "she-covery." As Anne Gaviola explains, there are a lot of factors that are allowing women, especially working parents, to get into the workforce or stay on the job.
