In tonight's top story: At least two people were killed and 30 more injured in a Russian missile strike on a medical centre and veterinary clinic in Dnipro, Ukraine on Friday. The strike came as Moscow highlights a deadly attack on Russian-controlled Ukraine, and more strikes inside Russia itself. The apparent ramp up of activity inside Russian territory also came ahead of Ukraine's anticipated counteroffensive. Redmond Shannon has the story.

Turning to Canada, Cold Lake, Alta., is on the brink of an economic boom, and with thousands of people expected to move to the area in the coming years for jobs, leaving the housing market in a tight spot. Paired with inflation and critical infrastructure needs, affordability policies have become top-of-mind heading into Alberta’s provincial election on Monday. Heather Yourex-West reports.

And 2023 has been another difficult year for spring flooding in western Quebec. Until recently, the water levels that hit communities from Gatineau to Montreal were considered to be flooding that happened merely "once in a hundred years." However, it has happened in three of the last six years. As Mike Armstrong explains, climate change is forcing communities to prepare for the worst because it's happening often.

Plus, a Canadian designer is turning trash into fashion in a durable and chic way. Padina Bondar is weaving her magic using literal garbage to create garments that are absolutely glamorous.  Her clothing items are on display at a new exhibition in Toronto. As Mike Drolet explains, it's amazing what you can do with plastic waste.
