Police have dispersed demonstrators outside the Georgian Parliament in Tbilisi, after it approved a 'foreign interference' law.
The new legislation was passed after weeks of mass protests.
Demonstrators fear it could be used to curb dissent and stand in the way of Georgia joining the European Union one day.
The new law will require organisations that get more than 20 percent of their funding from abroad to register with authorities.
The draft now goes to President Salome Zourabichvili, who has said she will veto it, but her decision can be overridden by another vote in parliament, controlled by the governing party and its allies.
Al Jazeera’s Dmitry Medvedenko reporting from Tbilisi, and to discuss this more we are joined by Alex Scrivener, he is the executive director of the think tank the Democratic Security Institute.
