Gary Lineker row: BBC made decision 'on the hoof and against a lot of pressure'

Former BBC executive Peter Salmon says he thinks the BBC made its decision on Gary Lineker "in the way they thought best".

He added that the "political heat" hasn't helped people "think or act particularly clearly".
