Brian Laundrie, whom police continue to look for in the Florida wilderness in connection with fiancée and travel blogger Gabby Petito's death during their U.S. road trip, was charged on Thursday with unauthorized use of her debit card.

The federal grand jury indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Wyoming alleges Brian Laundrie made unauthorized withdrawals worth more than $1000 during the period in which Petito was missing.

Petito’s body was discovered on Sunday near the remote Spread Creek Dispersed Campground in Bridger-Teton National Forest in western Wyoming. Coroner’s investigators determined her death to be a homicide but have not revealed the manner in which she was killed.

The city of Moab, Utah also announced it’s launching an independent investigation into the way police officers handled an incident with Petito and Laundrie when they were pulled over on Aug. 12.
