French court sentences Ottawa academic to life in prison for Paris synagogue bombing

A French court has found Ottawa academic Hassan Diab guilty in absentia on terrorism charges related to the bombing of a Paris synagogue in 1980. He maintains that he was in Beirut writing exams at the time of the attack that killed four people and injured more than 40. Diab's lawyer Donald Bayne, says the next step is to see if France makes a request for extradition.
