May Day, a traditional date for people to take to the streets of Paris, saw hundreds of thousands take to the streets across France.

Demonstrations were turbocharged by action against President Macron's controversial pension reforms.

Violent clashes between protestors and police led to 108 police officers being injured and one seriously hurt by a Molotov cocktail.

291 people were arrested across the country.
