France: People take to the streets in protest against Macron government

Thousands have come out in protest in France and hundreds have been arrested following violent clashes between police and protesters.

It is after opposition parties tabled two motions of no confidence in the government, after President Macron pushed an unpopular pension reform bill through parliament without a vote.
