Foxconn protests: Violent clashes erupt outside giant iPhone factory in China

An angry crowd hurled barricades and other objects at security officers wearing Hazmat suits outside a Foxconn facility in China following unrest among workers, video footage showed.

Foxconn, one of Apple Inc.'s largest suppliers, is dealing with a crisis at its biggest iPhone assembly factory in Zhengzhou after it locked down the facility in accordance with the country’s zero-COVID policy.

Workers said in videos circulated on social media that they had been informed that Foxconn intended to delay bonus payments, while other workers also complained they were forced to share dormitories with colleagues who had tested positive for COVID-19.
