According to people living in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, at least 52 corpses have been seen flowing at Ujiyar, Kulhadia and Bharauli Ghats in Narhi area. Similarly, reports of corpses flowing in the Ganges river have also been received from Bihar. In the statement, the NHRC said that it seems that the administrative authorities have failed to make the public aware and prevent the shedding of waterless or unburned corpses in the Ganges river.
