The European Union’s police agency, Europol, will be forced to delete much of a vast store of personal data related to individuals who have not been found guilty of any crime by the EU data protection watchdog.
The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) has compared Europol’s practices with those at the American spy agency, as revealed by whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2013.

Al Jazeera’s Step Vaessen reports from Amsterdam, Netherlands.
