Privacy concerns are being raised about the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) buying the location data of Canadian cellphone users. The agency said it wanted to analyze the movement of people during the pandemic.

The information gathered was "de-identified," meaning no data could be linked to individual Canadians' movements. Although privacy experts say the method is not bulletproof.

As Mike Le Couteur reports, there are questions about how that data is collected and whether Canadians even knew about it.
