EU strikes deal to end import ban on Ukrainian grain | DW News

The European Union has struck a deal to end a row that had been blocking imports of Ukrainian agricultural products. EU states bordering Ukraine had been torn between helping their neighbour and protecting their own farmers - leading some of them to introduce import bans.

Overland transportation routes have become so important because the war has hampered Ukraine's access to the Black Sea. The current deal allowing some Black Sea exports expires on May 18th, and Moscow has said it might not renew it. What needs to happen for that deal to be extended?
