Drone video shows the scale of the devastation in Quito, Ecuador on Tuesday after a deadly landslide that killed at least 22 people.

The death toll is expected to climb as rescuers step up efforts to find victims. Another 47 people were reportedly injured.

Torrential rains on Monday night caused a build-up of water in the La Gasca and La Comuna, sending mud and rocks raining down on residences.

Authorities have not ruled out further landslides.

Quito saw more than 7 centimetres of rain on Monday – the most in nearly two decades.
