ECOWAS leaders say all options open in Niger, including ‘use of force’

The West African bloc ECOWAS has activated a standby military force, after holding an emergency meeting to discuss the coup in Niger.
But leaders emphasised that diplomacy is the preferred way to restore the civilian government.
They condemned the detention of President Mohamed Bazoum, who was ousted two weeks ago.
