Ontario’s premier Doug Ford says he would have “no problem” extending the remaining mask mandates beyond the end of the month if recommended by the province’s top doctor amid the 6th wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The province has lifted mask mandates in most settings except those deemed high-risk like long-term care homes, hospitals and public transit.

During an unrelated press conference on Thursday, Ford also gave advice to Ontarians gathering for another pandemic Easter long weekend.

"Stay cautious, and if you're having 15 people over, put your mask on. It doesn't hurt. You're in a crowded room... Common sense prevails," he said.
