Ontario Premier Doug Ford has rejected recommendations to increase tuition rates for college and university students, according to confidential government documents obtained by Global News.
The Ministry of College and Universities was reportedly prepared to raise tuition by five per cent over three years, but the Ford government has kept rates frozen since 2019.
The decision comes as the post-secondary sector faces financial challenges and questions about its future viability.
Global's Colin D'Mello explains.
