And while a quieter count-down to 2022 has begun, time is standing still for thousands of travelers stuck in U.S. airports including those flying WestJet.
WestJet Airlines says it is being forced to cut 15 per cent of its flights through to the end of January as it deals with staffing shortages due to the Omicron variant.
Richard Bartrem, WestJet VP of communications, says they are currently re-jigging flights and contacting travelers, also giving them the option to take another flight or get a refund.
