COVID-19: Ofsted boss warns extending school day may 'backfire'

Ofsted Chief Inspector Amanda Spielman told Sophy Ridge altering school times to allow children to catch up on their studies may not work.

There are fears that children may suffer long-lasting damage to their education from having spent so long away from the classroom.

The government is considering extending the school day and cutting holidays.
