Ipsos polling done exclusively for Global News shows little consensus among Canadians on how long COVID-19 vaccine mandates should remain in place.

Twenty per cent say mandates for everyday activities like seeing a movie should end immediately, while 11 per cent think they should end by the end of the year and 23 per cent would wait until the end of 2022.

Ipsos CEO Darrell Bricker said people were asked about when they feel the mandates should be lifted and how it applied to things like air travel or dining in a restaurant. He said the poll showed that while the results were mixed, more people were comfortable lifting mandates quickly for activities they may already have experienced, such as dining out or working at the office. But there was less support for ending vaccine requirements for travellers and health-care workers.
