Heads of state and global agencies attending the Paris peace summit on Thursday called for a united response to the COVID-19 pandemic, saying "no to narrow self-interests and yes to solidarity."
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern each spoke about vaccine development, both stressing once one is approved for use that countries must ensure "equitable access."
The leaders also spoke about rejecting terrorism, with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte saying there needs to be "shared and urgent responses" to problems threatening peace. Chinese President Xi Jinping added that the world should "oppose all forms of terrorism and acts of extreme violence."
