Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday said increases in reports of new COVID-19 cases in Europe must serve as a “wake-up call” for Canadians, and said the window to turn the surge of cases in Canada “is closing fast.”
As of Tuesday, Canada has a total of 240,263 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with about 30,000 active cases. There’s also a total of 10,208 deaths.
He called upon Canadians to work together "right now" to beat the second coronavirus wave, saying that Canadians flattened the curve in the spring and they can do it again, stressing that while it's tough, "it'll be even tougher if we give up now."
