Manitoba’s chief provincial health officer Dr. Brent Roussin spoke Monday, following news over the weekend that a boy under the age of 10 had died from COVID-19 in Manitoba.

Roussin said the boy had “underlying conditions,” but said that those conditions don’t “diminish the loss.” He also said that the child had not contracted COVID-19 in the province’s schools.

Manitoba’s case count and death toll continued to rise Monday with 343 new cases identified and 11 additional deaths reported.
