With the holidays approaching, Greek jewelry maker Nadia Bele is trying to make the necessity of wearing a mask amid the COVID-19 pandemic a little more pleasant for her customers during the holiday season.

As face coverings have now become a regular part of people's attire, Bele has been showing customers how to decorate their masks with jewelry she makes for Christmas and New Years parties.

"Now that the holidays are coming it is an opportunity on these days especially during evening dinner parties which we will somehow manage to have, to wear our decorated masks and feel a bit better,” she said.

Bele's jewelry is custom-made only, and she has been meeting with customers by teleconference while the country is in lockdown. Her client base includes many Greek celebrities as well as international customers.

She says people find a way to adopt masks "into our style, into our everyday appearance, our dress, into the way we do our hair and makeup," adding that "it has to somehow become a part of our daily routine."
