On Wednesday, members of the U.S. Coast Guard responded to an urgent call on the Niagara River, metres from the American falls.

New York State Park Police say a woman has died after the car she was in entered the Niagara River Wednesday morning on the U.S. side of the falls.

Coast Guard swimmer Derrian Duryea opened up to Global’s Shallima Maharaj about the rescue mission.
