There's growing pressure on the four home nations of the United Kingdom to look again at the easing of Covid restrictions over the Christmas period.
Two leading medical journals have joined forces to warn that the decision to ease the rules for a 5-day period is “rash” and will “cost many lives”.
Under the Christmas rules agreed by the four nations, families will be able to travel across the UK and three households will be allowed to gather under one roof.
Labour has called for the guidelines to be clearer and tougher.
