NHS Trusts are warning that the relaxing of coronavirus restrictions over Christmas risks a third wave of infections.
NHS Providers - which represents more than 200 trusts in England - has urged Boris Johnson to exercise caution when the current Tier levels across England are reviewed shortly.
The Trusts warn that there are 10,000 fewer hospital beds available compared with last year - as well as winter flu pressures on the NHS.
