Cerberus heatwave: People advised to avoid direct sunlight in 15 cities across Italy

Fifteen cities across Italy have been put on red alert - a level which advises people to avoid direct sunlight.

A similar "red alert" was issued in Cyprus, appealing for the public to take extra care and avoid using any machinery that could spark fires.
